Privacy Policy — PaceLedger
Publisher: RiseLoop Studio
Last updated: 2026-01-25
This Privacy Policy explains how PaceLedger (“the app”) handles your information.
1) Summary (plain English)
- PaceLedger is designed to work offline-first: your transactions, buckets, caps, and analytics are stored on your device.
- PaceLedger does not require you to create an account to use core features.
- Optional diagnostics (crash reports) and optional analytics may be available in some builds; you can disable them in Settings.
2) Information the app stores on your device
PaceLedger stores the following locally on your phone to provide the app’s features:
- Transactions you enter (amount, date/time, bucket/category, optional note/tags)
- Buckets you create (names, icons, priority)
- Monthly caps and rollover/carry rules
- Derived analytics (charts, trends, forecasts, leak checks)
- App preferences (theme, defaults, reminders)
3) Information we may collect if you enable Diagnostics / Analytics (optional)
Some builds may offer toggles such as:
- Diagnostics (crash reporting): to help identify and fix crashes and stability issues.
- Usage analytics: to understand which features are used and improve the product.
If enabled, these systems may collect technical information such as:
- Crash stack traces and app state at the time of crash
- Device and OS metadata (e.g., device model, OS version)
- A pseudonymous installation identifier used for reliability metrics
We do not intend to transmit your transaction details (amounts, buckets, notes) to analytics/crash systems.
If your current build does not include these toggles, then Diagnostics/Analytics are not collected.
4) AI / ML features
PaceLedger may use on-device ML/AI to power forecasting, anomaly detection, and analysis. When on-device AI is used:
- Your data stays on your device for computation.
- We do not upload your transactions for AI processing.
If we introduce a cloud-based AI feature in a future release, we will:
- Clearly label it in-app,
- Request any required permissions/consent,
- Update this policy.
5) Permissions
PaceLedger aims to use the minimum permissions required. Depending on features you enable, the app may request:
- Notifications (for reminders/alerts you configure)
If a permission is not essential, the app should still work without it (with reduced functionality).
6) Data sharing
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share your personal financial entries with third parties.
- If Diagnostics/Analytics are enabled, technical data may be shared with the service provider used for those features (e.g., crash reporting/analytics tooling), solely for app reliability and product improvement.
7) Data retention
- Local app data remains on your device until you delete it.
- If Diagnostics/Analytics are enabled, technical data is retained as needed to provide reliability reporting and may be subject to the retention policies of the provider used.
8) Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate for a local-first app. However, no method of storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device (screen lock, OS security updates).
9) Your choices and controls
A) Delete your app data
You can delete your PaceLedger data at any time:
- Use the in-app option (if available): Settings → Data → Delete all data, or
- Uninstall the app (this typically removes local app data).
B) Turn off Diagnostics / Analytics (if present)
If your build includes these toggles, you can disable them in:
- Settings → Privacy / Diagnostics
10) Children’s privacy
PaceLedger is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect product changes. If the changes are material, we will update the “Last updated” date and may provide additional in-app notice.
